Some of the EU officials and public servants took advantage of this summit to pay a visit to Transylvania, a short break of their hectic life in the European capitals.

With a group of interpreters, we spent three days on the hills of Transylvania, visiting the fortified churches of Biertan, Malâncrav and Viscri, the famous Bran and Peles Castles, enjoying the organic meal at Lucica's homestead from Floresti village, amongst her noisy roosters and lazy cats. We met in Sibiu, just after the EU informal summit, spent the first night in Sighisoara - Central Park Hotel is an excellent option both for accommodation and for dinner - and the second night in Brasov, at Casa Wagner located on the famous Council Square.
